Organise your stuff

Do you dream of living in a home where everything is in its place and easy to find?

Whether we buy or rent, our homes are probably one of our biggest expenses in life but all too often we can fill them with so much stuff that our lives become harder not easier. This isn’t our fault – we are constantly bombarded by advertisements selling us more stuff plus the bargain aisles of some well known supermarkets along with the savings that can be made from multi-buys can be too hard to resist. On top of that, many of us may have been given or bought items in the past that we simply no longer use. In isolation, this isn’t necessarily a problem but having too much stuff in our homes can make us feel fed up, in need of a change and, at worst, out of control, unproductive and stressed. Decluttering our homes enables them to start to function again in a way that enables us to live calmer lives –  no longer spending time looking for items in crowded cupboards, or buying duplicates of things we already own.

So how can I help you?

I can work with you to organise areas of your home, helping you identify the stuff that you want to keep and those items that need to be given away or moved elsewhere. In doing so, I will ensure that the things that you love and use frequently are readily at hand and that the area becomes a clearer and calmer space. I will also work with you to identify areas that can be re-purposed and introduce systems to help you keep on top of things going forward. I will help you organise any area of your home including:

  • Kitchens including pantries and fridge
  • Living rooms
  • Bedrooms including wardrobes
  • Children bedrooms / play rooms
  • Spare rooms
  • Work spaces / home office
  • Garages
  • Attics / lofts

The process

The process starts with a 30 minute free consultation ideally face to face but can be over Zoom. During this time, we discuss what it is you are looking to achieve, how you would like the space to best work for you and any constraints. During this time, I will get to know the layout of the space and identify areas that need decluttering and potentially new storage solutions. We will then agree a plan of action which I will confirm by email following the consultation.

On the day of a declutter session, I will arrive around 9.00am and we will start by confirming our agreed plan of action and discussing anything that might have changed since our initial discussion. I then roll up my sleeves and get started by clearing the space and sorting your possession so that I can then help you decide what stays and what needs to be given away. A session lasts 6 hours and I normally take one 30 minute break for lunch.
